Take advantage of your stay at the Hotel Volney Opéra to discover this unique location and the magnificent temporary exhibition dedicated to Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel, which has been extended until July 18th.
A woman's journey through the 20th century
This magnificent exhibition, which brings together pieces from major international museums as well as the Chanel archives and private collections, is called Gabrielle Chanel: Manifeste de Mode (Fashion Manifesto). Through a dual approach that is both chronological and thematic, we are shown Gabrielle Chanel's commitment to revolutionising the world of couture and fashion’s relationship with the female body. From her debut in the 1910s, through the Roaring Twenties to her reaction to the Dior style in the 1950s, she left her mark on the world of fashion. Throughout her remarkable career, Chanel constantly reaffirmed a true fashion manifesto.
